The announcement will be streamed live from 6pm to 7pm on the awards’ official YouTube channel and social media platforms.
“The SAMAs are not just about trophies – they’re about legacy, impact, and the stories we tell as a nation through music,” RiSA CEO Nhlanhla Sibisi said.
Sibisi noted that the announcement during Women’s Month was intended to highlight women’s contributions to the music industry and broader society.
The awards, first held in 1995, recognise achievements across the South African music industry. Organisers say they contribute to market growth, social cohesion, cultural preservation, and tourism by promoting South Africa’s creative identity globally.
This year’s edition is sponsored by the Motsepe Foundation, the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, SAMPRA, SAMRO, and CAPASSO, with the SABC as media partner.
The main awards ceremony is scheduled for November 2025 and will feature live performances, tributes, and presentations honouring the past year’s achievements in music.
