Following the release, Fundama will present a live concert titled The Journey – An African Heritage and Cultural Celebration at Kings Kraal in Sandton, Johannesburg, on 7 March. The event, which begins at 6 p.m., is free of charge and supported by the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture.
“The Journey is more than a concert; it is a celebration of African identity, rhythm, spirituality, and storytelling,” Fundama said. The performance will feature a full live band and showcase her fusion of Afro-jazz, Afro-soul, Afro-pop, gospel, and indigenous South African rhythms. Audiences can expect an evening of cultural expression, vocal performance, and music rooted in African heritage.
Born and raised in Kwa-Thema, Fundama transitioned from a corporate career to pursue music full-time. Her debut album, Ngizoqina, earned her the 2016 Crown Gospel Award for Best Gospel Jazz Song. She has since performed internationally, including in France, carrying South African music, language, and ancestral memory to global audiences.
The new EP, Siyaphambili, continues Fundama’s mission of promoting themes of love, unity, resilience, and collective progress. The title, meaning “moving forward,” reflects her message of advancing despite challenges at both personal and continental levels.
Fundama is available for media interviews, radio features, and television appearances to discuss Siyaphambili and the upcoming concert.
