Foreigner coming to South Africa in October
British-American rock band Foreigner will perform at SunBet Arena in Pretoria and Grand Arena in Cape Town in South Africa on 9 and 11 October respectively.
The group will perform in the country a week after Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber, who will entertain fans in Cape Town and Johannesburg on 28 September and 1 October.
Foreigner’s line-up touring South Africa includes Kelly Hansen on vocals, Dokken bassist Jeff Pilson, Michael Bluestein on keyboards, guitarist Bruce Watson, Chris Frazier on drums and guitarist Luis Carlos Maldonado.
“Big Concerts can’t wait to rock the new normal, and we are so excited to bring these megastars we know South Africans have missed so much,” Big Concerts CEO Justin Van Wyk said. “We hope to see you on your feet as we swing into the live event business once again.”
Having released 10 multi-platinum albums and 16 top 30 singles since it was formed in 1976, Foreigner is one of the world’s most popular rock acts with a powerful repertoire that has led to sold-out concerts and album sales that now exceed 80 million. The band has penned enduring rock anthems like ‘Juke Box Hero’, ‘Cold As Ice’, ‘Hot Blooded’, ‘Waiting for a Girl Like You’, ‘Feels Like the First Time’, ‘Urgent’, ‘Head Games’, ‘Say You Will’, ‘Dirty White Boy’ and ‘Long, Long Way From Home’
Foreigner also features strongly in every category in Billboard’s Greatest of All Time listing. The band’s catalogue sales were recently celebrated in Business Insider as hitting the Top 40 among the Best Selling Music Artists of All Time.
Tickets to the concerts are available for sale here from 1 April at 9am. Discovery Bank pre-sale is available here on 30 March at 9am.
