Call for proposals: 2022 Youth Expressions Festival in SA

Interested creatives can submit their proposals in any of the following genres:

• Music
• Musical theatre
• Children’s theatre
• Dance/physical theatre
• Drama
• Poetry
• Visual arts

To be considered for the festival, all proposals are required to have the following:

• Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 in 2022.
• A motivation letter of how the production is relevant, meaningful and entertaining.
• Creative team information that includes biographies and contact details.
• A full script and a brief synopsis and/or a link to the video of the production.
• A four-page narrative treatment (if there is no script or if it will be a dance/devised production).
• For visual artists, a full portfolio is required.

In addition to the financial support, SAST will provide all selected candidates with artistic and technical support. All proposals must be submitted to eyct@statetheatre.co.za with "Youth Expressions Festival 2022" in the subject line of the e-mail.

The submission deadline is 12 November at 5pm.
