SA: ReaDaSoul shares new amapiano single ft. De Soul, Miss Q
South African artist ReaDaSoul has released a new amapiano single titled ‘Buyelekhaya’, featuring De Soul and Miss Q.
ReaDaSoul.
The track explores themes of love, longing and emotional vulnerability, with ReaDaSoul describing the song as a reflection on missing someone who once felt like “home”.
“With this single, I want to convey the pain of missing someone who once felt like home, while also expressing hope, vulnerability, and unconditional love,” ReaDaSoul said. “It’s about the emotional struggle of wanting a second chance and realising that home isn’t a physical place.”
‘Buyelekhaya’ adopts a softer and more restrained amapiano sound, incorporating jazz-influenced production and slower-paced arrangements. The song focuses on emotional storytelling rather than dancefloor-driven production commonly associated with the genre.
According to information accompanying the release, the track originated from an unfinished project file sent by ReaDaSoul to De Soul, who later completed the arrangement, mixing and mastering of the song.
Miss Q’s contribution adds an additional vocal perspective to the record, broadening the emotional narrative presented throughout the track.
The single continues themes explored in ReaDaSoul’s previous work, which centred on relationships, love and personal reflection. ‘Buyelekhaya’ also serves as the lead single from the artist’s forthcoming EP, Head Above Water, scheduled for release on 26 June 2026.
The release forms part of a growing trend within South African amapiano music towards more introspective and emotionally driven songwriting styles.
‘Buyelekhaya’ is now available on digital streaming platforms.
