Call for applications: Stand Foundation leadership programme in SA
The Stand Foundation in South Africa is calling on creatives to apply for its Leadership Initiative programme.
The programme was launched in 2021, with more than 40 participants over eight months. Stand Foundation will be offering two shorter leadership training blocks of four months each in 2022. The initiative aims to identify and equip a younger generation of leaders for the arts sector, and particularlyh for theatre and dance.
The first four-month course will run from 1 February to 31 May 2022 and will include weekly webinars covering leadership, governance, cultural policy, critical thinking and fundraising. It will include mentorships by some of the industry’s leaders, working groups to gain practical experience and to facilitate peer-to-peer learning, and access to networks and opportunities within the sector.
How to apply
Applications are open for the first course. Interested individuals aged between 22 and 42 may apply for the course by completing the application form here, and submitting a CV and motivation letter to mike@standfoundation.org.za before.
The submission deadline is 30 November.
“The Stand Leadership programme provided me with much needed historical context to make sense of the long-standing challenges in the arts and culture sector in South Africa and a toolkit of information, opportunities, and networks to engage constructively,” Stand Leadership programme beneficiary Ntshadi Mofokeng said.
