Call for applications: Goethe-Institut project coordinator in SA
Goethe-Institut South Africa is looking for a full-time project coordinator for the Library Gamebox Hub starting 1 August.

Interested individuals can apply in English or German and include a tabular CV, certificates and references.
The application must be submitted by email to the regional head of information, Stefanie Kastner, at stefanie.kastner@goethe.de by 30 June.
Key responsibilities
- Community management of the HUB at Goethe: organisation of mentorship programme for cultural and creative entrepreneurs.
- Organisation of public and internal events for Hub at Goethe.
- Customer service in the library and responding to enquiries as well as research tasks.
- Indexing, cataloguing and technical handling of library holdings.
- Lending on-site as well as supervising the eLibrary service.
- Developing new services for the library customers.
- Assisting in the creation and maintenance of the library’s online services.
- Coordinating all public relations with the PR department at Goethe-Institut South Africa and handling internal communication of the project with all stakeholders.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary education in event management, project management, library sciences or information management, media studies or comparable knowledge and experience in cultural and creative economies, library services and media development.
- Exceptional customer orientation.
- Commitment and the ability to work in a team.
- Ability to work closely with partner organisations.
- Presentation skills in order to do library orientations, ICT facilitations etc.
- Willingness to work occasionally during evening hours and/or Saturdays.
- Experience in project management including flight bookings, assistance with visa application, preparation of events etc.
- Good MS Office skills.
- Fluent English and at least basic knowledge of German with the willingness to study the language further.
- African language would be beneficial.
- For non-South African applicants. possession of a valid work and residence permit for South Africa.
“The Library Gamebox-Hub is part of our information department,” Goethe-Institut said. “Projects have a strong focus on gaming and cultural and creative entrepreneurship. Our library consists of a variety of print, digital and AV media in connection to Germany and South Africa.”
