Banda Marrove
Bio
The band Marrove from the City of Nampula was created in June 2006, having become active in 2007, through events and participation in Festivals. Here it should be noted that at the time (2006, 2007) the precursors were part of one of the musical bands in the city of Nampula, called “ Dillas Júniorˮ, which in their view had the objective of perpetuating the name and musical works of the mother band “ Conjunto Dillasˮ.
In 2006, the aforementioned elements that were part of the group “Dillas junior decided to create a new group with different characteristics and musical style, with the main objective of promoting Nampulense music and the respective musical styles across borders with greater focus on Afro Tufo and Rumba. In this sense, after the union of these elements, it was decided to give the band a new name, hence the name “Marroveˮ in Emakua language, which translated into Portuguese means Lama or Matope.
