Red Bull Back2Beyond returns to Durban for multi-stage music event
Red Bull Back2Beyond is returning to South Africa for a second edition, with the next chapter taking place at The Station in Durban on 14 March 2026. The event follows a debut in Pretoria in November 2025.
Red Bull Back2Beyond is an innovative music platform built on collaboration over competition.
The format features multiple stages and collaborative performances, with artists trading back-to-back sets that span genres, including Afro-house, amapiano, gqom, and 3-Step. The organisers describe the event as a “live musical conversation,” where performers respond instinctively to one another, creating sets unique to the night.
Zakes Bantwini, Kabza De Small, Distruction Boyz, and DJ LeSoul are among the performers scheduled. The artists are known for shaping South Africa’s contemporary music landscape.
Zakes Bantwini, raised in KwaMashu’s F-Section, has delivered hits such as ‘Osama’ and won a Grammy for ‘Bayethe’ alongside Wouter Kellerman and Nomcebo Zikode. Kabza De Small, often referred to as the King of amapiano, has contributed to international tours and orchestral reinterpretations of his catalogue. Distruction Boyz helped popularise Gqom, with the gold-certified album Gqom Is The Future. DJ LeSoul has been active in electronic music since 2017, combining African tradition with innovative production techniques.
The event allows audiences to move between stages and experience genre evolution live, with a focus on interaction, unpredictability, and immersion.
Tickets are available through Red Bull’s official website, and updates can be found via @redbullza on social media.
