The presentation took place following TxC’s participation in a fireside chat titled Rooted Sounds, Global Stages: African Music’s Next Chapter, which also featured South African artist DJ Karri and The Orchard West Africa director, Lanre Masha. The discussion explored how African artists are extending their reach from local audiences to global stages, focusing on creativity, challenges, and collaboration in the evolving music landscape.
Explaining the significance of the moment, Masha said presenting the plaque at ACCES underscored TxC’s contribution to taking African music worldwide. “It highlighted the remarkable achievements of TxC in taking African music to the global stage,” he told Music In Africa.
He added that the recognition reflected both the duo’s artistry and the growing visibility of African sounds. “I’m incredibly proud to see TxC receive this recognition and continue to celebrate them on their musical journey,” Masha said. “Their creativity, consistency, and ability to connect with audiences across borders truly embody the spirit of African music today. This milestone not only celebrates their hard work but also highlights the global impact of South Africa’s vibrant music scene.”
Originating from Gqeberha and now based in Johannesburg, TxC have been instrumental in driving the international rise of amapiano, combining energetic performances with strong digital engagement. Their success symbolises the expanding global footprint of African music and the increasing visibility of women in electronic and dance genres.
The recognition at ACCES 2025 marks a significant milestone in TxC’s growing international career and reinforces the role of South African artists in shaping contemporary global music culture.
