South African pop artist Britney Meistre has released a new single titled ‘Stay’, continuing the momentum from her debut EP 25, which was released in September 2025.

The track is the fourth single taken from the project and is described as a pop song centred on themes of connection, presence and emotional attachment. It carries a mid-tempo, easy-listening sound that combines pop production with a reflective lyrical tone.
‘Stay’ was recorded at JAZZWORX and produced by Gregory Nottingham. Mixing and mastering were handled by Robin Kohl. The production delivers a polished, radio-ready sound consistent with Meistre’s established pop style.
Lyrically, the song focuses on holding onto meaningful relationships and being present in the moment. It explores themes of love, loyalty and emotional grounding during periods of change.
The release follows Meistre’s debut EP 25, a four-track project that marked a key stage in her career. The EP blends pop, dance and singer-songwriter influences and includes the songs ‘Rescue’, ‘25’, ‘Dive’ and ‘Stay’.
“‘25’ is my heart on display,” Meistre said. “It’s about love, faith, and becoming. Every song carries a piece of who I am and where I am in my journey.”
“Rescue”, co-written and produced with Lee Cole, is a ballad about finding emotional safety in another person. The title track “25” reflects on adulthood, identity and personal pressure, while “Dive” focuses on romantic surrender.
Since her debut single ‘Where Are You Now?’ in 2021, Meistre has released several tracks, including ‘By My Side’ and “What About Us”, gradually building her profile in South Africa’s pop music scene.
With ‘Stay’, Meistre extends the lifecycle of her debut EP while reinforcing her focus on emotionally driven pop music that aims to balance personal storytelling with broad audience appeal.
