Open call: Ngoma Awards 2023 entries in Zambia
The National Arts Council of Zambia is inviting artists to submit entries for the 2023 edition of the Ngoma Awards ahead of the presentation ceremony in Lusaka on 9 December.
How to nominate
- Dial USSD code *335# on the Zamtel mobile phone.
- Select the category for nomination.
- Enter the name of the artist you wish to nominate.
- Confirm the submission.
- Entrants will be charged five Zambia kwacha.
- Entrants will receive an SMS confirming their nomination submission.
Note: The code for access by customers on other networks as well as other platforms for nominating will be published soon.
Eligibility
- Nominees must be Zambian artists.
- Only artistic works that have been published, publicly displayed and/or performed are eligible for nomination.
Timeline
- Call for nominations opens: 12 October.
- Close of nominations: 1 November.
- Tally and adjudication: 20 November.
- Nominee announcement: 17 November.
- Voting period: 17 November to 7 December.
- Votes sorting, verification, tallying, winner selection: 8 December.
- Ngoma Awards ceremony: 9 December.
