Tamia is coming to South Africa
Grammy-nominated Canadian R&B/soul singer, songwriter and producer Tamia will perform in the South African cities of Cape Town, Durban and Pretoria on 4, 7 and 8 July, respectively.
The tour is courtesy of G Twenty One Live and Vertex Events. No stranger to South Africa, the ‘Officially Missing You’ hitmaker will return in the country for the fourth time over the past decade.
Tamia competed in singing and dancing competitions throughout her childhood. In 1994, after signing a development deal with Warner Bros Records, she was invited by veteran producer Quincy Jones to appear on his album Q's Jook Joint, which earned her Grammy Award nominations for their collaboration on ‘You Put a Move on My Heart’ and ‘Slow Jams’.
In 1998, she released her self-titled debut album and then followed it with a series of successful Elektra Records releases, including A Nu Day (2000) and More (2004). Her hit singles from these albums include ‘So Into You’, ‘Stranger in My House’ and ‘Imagination’, as well as collaborations ‘Into You’, ‘Missing You’ and ‘Spend My Life with You’.
Some of her other albums include Between Friends (2006), Beautiful Surprise (2012), Love Life (2015) and Passion Like Fire (2018).
Tamia is also well known for her philanthropic work within the music industry.
