
Open call: Songwriting workshop with M. Rumbi & N’Jiru in Nairobi
Sonnets on a Sofa (SOAS) is calling on all musicians, songwriters, and music enthusiasts to attend a songwriting workshop at Kitovu Learning Space in Nairobi, Kenya on 15 March.
- Local creatives M. Rumbi (pictured) and N’Jiru will host the workshop.
Hosted by local musicians, M. Rumbi and N’Jiru, the event is designed to inspire creativity, foster collaboration, and demystify the songwriting process.
SOAS is a creative initiative that brings together artists in a cozy, intimate setting to write and perform music on the spot. It’s a platform where raw talent meets collaboration, resulting in unforgettable musical moments.
Workshop highlights:
- Introduction to SOAS & songwriting: Learn about the SOAS concept and how it ties into the art of songwriting.
- Collaborative songwriting: Work in groups to create a song based on a mood and instrument, guided by M. Rumbi and N’Jiru.
- Presentations & SOAS showcase: Perform a song and witness a live SOAS session, where the top two groups will have their songs filmed.
