Mörda, born Bongani Mohosana, will perform at the ACCES Showcase Festival at Propaganda Pretoria on 31 October. He will share the stage with a diverse line-up of top artists from across the continent, including Thakzin (South Africa), Naledi Aphiwe (South Africa), Frida Amani (Tanzania), Oumy (Senegal), Shandesh (South Africa), Tobi Peter (Nigeria) and Charles Gene Suite (South Africa).
The ACCES 2025 Showcase Festival is the ultimate showcasing platform for Africa’s next big talents. This year the event uses two venues, namely Propaganda Pretoria (Day 1 on 31 October, from 7pm) and 012 Central, Pretoria on 1 November from 12pm in the afternoon.
Hosted in Tshwane for the first time, ACCES will begin with a two-day conference at the Aula Theatre, University of Pretoria (30 and 31 October), attended by over 1000 delegates from over 45 countries.
A former member of the celebrated duo Black Motion, Mörda has played a central role in shaping South Africa’s music scene. Alongside Thabo Mabogwane, he co-founded Black Motion in 2009 under the stage name Murdah Bongz. The group rose to prominence with the 2011 album Talking to the Drums. After more than a decade of success, the pair chose to pursue solo projects, with Mohosana adopting the name Mörda.
In 2022, he released his debut solo album Asante, named after his daughter, followed by Asante II in 2023. The latter featured the single ‘Burning Bush’, a collaboration with Thakzin and Ihhashi Elimhlophe. Mörda’s performances are widely regarded for blending house and dance music with a distinct South African sound, making him a major addition to the ACCES programme.
Other confirmed performers include Focalistic (South Africa), Zoë Modiga (South Africa), Claudio Rabe (Réunion Island), Kekelingo (South Africa), Boukuru (Rwanda), Jabulile Majola (South Africa), Mwendamberi (Zimbabwe), Mpho Sebina (Botswana), Bokani Dyer (South Africa), Njoki Karu (Kenya) and FIMFIM (Ghana).
