
Call for participants: Africa International Festival of All Arts in Zimbabwe
Elysium Magna Dance Theatres in Zimbabwe is inviting creatives around the world to submit applications to participate at the Africa International Festival of All Arts (AFRIFAA) in Harare from 26 May to 3 June.
- The submission deadline is 15 March.
The call is intended for creatives in music, painting, sculpting, fashion designing, dance, theatre, poet, comedy, art and craft.
Interested artists should submit their applications here before 15 March.
All participants will independently pay for their travel expenses to and from the festival as well as visas and all necessary documents required for entry into Zimbabwe. The festival will cover the group’s local hospitality – including accommodation and meals – during the festival, inter and intra city transport, performance venue and publicity. The festival will not be paying participants.
The event, which will coincide with Zimbabwe Culture Month, will run under the theme Diverse Cultural Colours: Africa Together to celebrate and showcase the frequencies of Zimbabwe’s cultural sounds.
“The sub theme is The Gathering of the Creatives to capture the very essence of our founding principles in the vision, aims, goals and objectives of AFRIFAA that is, creativity transcends textbook theories, is boundless and is borderless,” the organisers said. “The 2023 inaugural festival will be centred round Harare event venues. We’ll also be hosting galleries for paint artists, sculptors, fashion designers, dance ensembles, theatre groups, dance theatre groups, poets, comedians, chefs for African cuisine, musicians, art and craft, symposiums and workshops, pageantry and other surprise events you can check on the booking website.”
