Call for applications: ACCES 2022 Assistant Project Officer
The Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF) seeks an Assistant Project Officer for the 2022 ACCES music conference taking place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, from 24 to 26 November 2022.

This position will run for two months – from October to November. The Foundation is strictly looking for a person who has relevant experience and a proven track record in similar positions.
Key responsibilities
The Assistant Project Officer will work in the MIAF Projects Manager’s office assisting in the execution of the following:
- Supporting the conference logistics team.
- Drawing up accurate schedules for booking travel and accommodation for delegates (artists and performers, speakers, etc.).
- Supporting with general administrative tasks – events invitations and processing guest lists.
- Processing accurate schedules for conference shuttles and airport pick-ups, including shuttles for fringe events, artist soundchecks and excursions.
- Maintaining the festival logistics planner and schedules.
- Setting up meetings.
- Assist in artist and venue liaison.
- Clerical duties
- Assisting with procurement processes.
- Assembling delegate packages.
- Perform onsite roles, including venue preparation, service provider management, etc. Thus, the candidate must be able to travel to Tanzania from 20 to 28 November 2022.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- At least five (3) years of experience in similar positions.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English. French is an advantage.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is a must.
- Ability to organise and coordinate complex, high-profile functions and event logistics, using specific principles and practices for event planning and coordination.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience working in the music or cultural sector.
- Ability to work flexible hours, to accommodate event schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Great people skills and ability to work in a team is a must.
