Apply for Lofi Girl scholarship before 15 March

Interested students can apply here before 1.59am CAT on 15 March.

The initiative forms part of the platform’s celebrations for reaching 10 million subscribers on YouTube. The scholarships mark the third and final phase of the platform’s giveaway, which started in February.

To enter the giveaway, entrants must go to the official website and meet the following terms of entry:

• Enter their name and email address. The entrant’s first and last names entered must be identical to those included on the documents used to prove that the student has been accepted by their university.
• Confirm that they have read the rules and accept the terms.
• Carry out at least one action referred to in section 2.2.2 of the rules.
• Click on Enter Giveaway.
• No other means of entry, including letter and email, will be accepted.

Entrants must carry out at least one of the actions proposed by the organising company below:

• Each action carried out by entrants earns them a certain number of points.
• The more points the Entrants accumulate, the more likely they are to be selected as a winner.
• They must, at the very least, accumulate one point.

Terms for awarding the study grant

• The institution may be located in any geographical area around the world. The institution whose registration fees are to be funded by the organising company must meet the following conditions:
  • It must have existed for at least five years at the closing date of the giveaway.
  • It must have at least 50 students.
  • It must provide higher education within a public or private system (such as a universities, graduate school or institute, etc.).
  • It must award a status, grade, degree such as an undergraduate degree, master’s degree, doctorate, certificate or diploma to students who successfully complete the course.

Previously known as ChilledCow, the company rebranded in March last year to pay homage to the anime girl in its video streams. Many people come to Lofi Girl’s channel and playlists to find music to get them in the zone for studying,.

In February 2020 ChilledCow had 4.4 million YouTube subscribers, and that grew to nearly 8 million by March 2021. It now has 10.1 million. Meanwhile, its flagship Spotify playlist boasts more than 6.4 million followers.
