Call for applications: Afro Pepites Show 2022
Artists from various disciplines are invited to submit applications for the 2022 Afro Pepites Show talent search programme.
South African rapper and jazz composer Laliboi is a previous Afro Pepites participant.
The programme is courtesy of African Dream (Le Rêve Africain), an association in France, and is open to all artists including musicians, painters, dancers, photographers, fashion designers, sculptors, storytellers, humourists, poets, directors of short movies and actors of solidarity-based programmes in Africa, the Caribbean, Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia, Haiti, Jamaica and Cuba – as well as all artists inspired by Africa.
Three projects will be selected and successful applicants will benefit from:
- Access to the Afro Pepites Show network of more than 12 200 contacts organisers, managers, producers and media, 25 000 contacts subscribers and fans of African culture.
- The artists will benefit from the popularity of the Afro Pepites Show social networks: more than 50 000 Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn followers.
- The artists will benefit from the Afro Pepites Show’s expertise including management, production, distribution and booking.
Conditions
- African and South American artists will not incur application fees. The free application no longer applies to artists based in the North (Europe, Asia and North America). For all other regions, a €20 ($22) fee is required.
- Applicants should prepare contact details, a biography, a link to a picture and another link to listen or discover the applicant’s project.
- Artists who do not have a website should share their creations on SoundCloud, ReverbNation, YouTube or Instagram.
Artists can complete the application form here before 30 September.
Programme timeline
- Call for artistic projects opens: 1 March to 30 September.
- African Dream Commission: 1 to 31 October.
- The committee’s selections: 1 November.
- Open votes: 1 to 30 November.
- Announcement of the winners: 15 December.
