Temi Adeniji makes Billboard’s Global Power Players list again
Warner Music Africa (WMA) managing director Temi Adeniji has once again been named to Billboard’s prestigious Global Power Players list, marking her second consecutive appearance. Her recognition underscores another year of strategic expansion and cultural influence across key territories in Africa.

Over the past year, Adeniji has led significant developments in WMA’s regional presence. This includes the launch of WMA Francophone in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, as well as the successful acquisition of Africori, a leading African music company. These moves are part of a broader strategy to consolidate Warner Music’s footprint on the continent and to offer comprehensive support to artists across linguistic, genre-based, and regional divides.
Under Adeniji’s leadership, WMA has cultivated a dynamic roster of artists shaping the modern African music landscape. The company’s affiliated labels represent talents such as Joeboy, Kold AF, Flavour, Master KG, and Makhadzi. This diverse catalogue contributed to the company’s success at the 2025 Metro FM Awards, where Ranger, Amaza, Bassie and M-Touch’s 'Kwelanga 2.0' received three nominations, including Best Amapiano Song. Makhadzi, a standout artist, secured the Artist of the Year award.
Adeniji’s recognition comes at a time of robust growth for the global recorded music industry. According to the IFPI’s Global Music Report 2025, the sector recorded its tenth consecutive year of growth, with total revenues reaching $29.6 billion in 2024 — a 4.8% increase from the previous year. Streaming revenues exceeded $20 billion, accounting for nearly 70% of the market. Sub-Saharan Africa saw a 22.6% rise in revenue, surpassing $100 million for the first time.
“This recognition reflects the important work happening across the continent and the strength of our artists’ voices,” Adeniji said. “It’s a privilege to help build the infrastructure that supports African music’s global trajectory.”
Adeniji appears on the list alongside other Warner Music Group executives, including Simon Robson (President, EMEA Recorded Music), Alain Veille (President, Warner Music France), and Niels Walboomers (President, Benelux Recorded Music, Publishing, and Spinnin’ Records).
