The Afrobeats star will compete in the Global Music Star category against Adele (UK), Camilo (Colombia), Tones and I (Australia), BTS (South Korea), Rosalía (Spain) and Olivia Rodrigo (US). She received the nomination last week for her vocal contribution to Wizkid’s global hit ‘Essence’.
The recognition adds to her growing list of ‘Essence’ accomplishments, including a Best Global Music Performance nomination at the 64th Grammys on 3 April.
The 2022 Kids’ Choice Awards will be co-hosted by iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove and four-time Super Bowl champion Rob Gronkowski.
“Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards has always been such a unique show with tons of energy, superstars and of course, lots of slime,” Cosgrove said. “Nickelodeon has always been my family and to co-host this iconic show alongside Gronk will be a blast.”
Voting is now open on the Kids’ Choice Awards website. The show will be broadcast on Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons and Nick Jr.
