
Nigeria: Deadline looms for MUSON/MTNF Music Scholars Programme
The MTN Foundation (MTNF), in conjunction with the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON), is inviting applications for the MUSON/MTNF 2024/2025 Music Scholars Programme.

Established in 1989, the MUSON School of Music provides training for aspiring musicians. It began awarding diplomas in 2002, and the MUSON Diploma School was established in 2006.
The deadline for application is 25 August 2024.
Admission requirements

Academic:
- General Certificate of Education (GCE) ordinary level with credits in at least five subjects, including English.
- Or Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) with credits in at least five subjects, including English.
- Credits must be obtained in no more than two sittings before admission.

Practical:
- Grade 5 or higher pass certificate from the MUSON School of Music or a recognised music examining body (e.g. ABRSM, Trinity).

Theory:
- Grade 5 or higher pass certificate from the MUSON School of Music or a recognised music examining body.
Important notes:
- Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.
- Only short-listed applicants will be notified, and provided with an examination number for examinations, auditions, and interviews.
- Successful candidates will be admitted based on examination results.
