Bio

Miz Buttons (real name Mbali Mdluli) has been DJing for a decade. She started at the Bassline when it was in Melville, Johannesburg playing jazz and world music. Since then, Miz Buttons has been a resident DJ for a number of venues, such as the Bassline, Mind Your Head, House of Nsako, Berlin Bar, Kospotong and Pata Pata. For several years she performed for a charity organisation Paballo Ya Batho, donating her DJing time to 'A Night of a 1000 Drawings' and 'Doodler on the Roof'. In 2013 she contributed mixes to the 'Invisible Cities Pirate Radio' music art project headed by João Orecchia. She is currently a regular at Kitchener’s Carvery Bar in Braamfontein. Her genres include jazz, funk, swing, world music and electro.

Miz Buttons has performed alongside entertainers such as The Brother Moves On, BLK JKS, The Fridge, UJU, Planet Lindela, Meat the Veggies, Zim Ngqawana, Marcus Wyatt, Ernest Ranglin, Ben Sharpa, Vinny Da Vinci, Nicky B and DJ Bubbles.
