Leokach

Leokach is an artist from Tanzania.
Isaac Fadhil Omar Kachenje Professionally known as Leokach is a singer, rapper, songwriter, dancer, guitarist and musician from Arusha Tanzania. He is among the gifted and promising musical artist from Dhow Country Music Academy in Zanzibar Island with a versatile musical style that ranges from R&B, Afro soul, Hip Hop, Afro pop and Taarab fusion.
Leokach was introduced to the musical world from local church choir where he casually sang as part of the praise and worship team both at the church and at school religion organized events for the youth as well as school’s talent shows. It was a good hobby and was just something for fun until when in 2015 he realized he could write and come up with his own lyrics and it encouraged him to take it more serious.

In 2016 while in college for the first time went to a record studio of the legendary P Funk Majani (Bongo Records) as part of a rap group that was founded by another veteran in the bongo fleva scene Ferooz which was called Wabesh an attempt by Ferooz to make his way back in the music game and hopefully introduce new fresh men into bongo rap scene. However due to label complications and master’s ownership of the songs none of the songs that were recorded at Bongo records were ever released and Leokach broke away from the group and stayed low key far from the music for a while.

In 2022 he released a track called “together” a heartbreak song in the style of contemporary rap/trap fusion and that was the start of solo career as a musical artist. The same year he released another song plus a music video for “kwenye kona” another rap song this one rather hype that caught a bit attention and was a fan favorite at the night clubs in Zanzibar where he performed it. As an effort to grow more musically in November 2023 he joined the Dhow countries Music Academy where he learned music theory, singing and playing the guitar which highly advanced his craftsmanship in songwriting and live performance.
