Bio
Ekow Daniels is a Ghanaian vocalist whose artistry is defined by versatility, cultural depth, and commanding stage presence. Born Daniel Egyam in Senya Beraku in Ghana’s Central Region, he developed an early passion for music, immersed in a vibrant community where live performances were a constant part of everyday life. From a young age, he honed his craft through singing and drumming, drawing inspiration from the rich musical traditions that surrounded him.
Over the years, Ekow Daniels has evolved into a dynamic performer, seamlessly blending cultural heritage with contemporary influences. His sound moves fluidly across genres, with a strong foundation in Highlife and Afrobeat, enriched by elements that allow him to connect with diverse audiences. Whether performing in intimate jazz settings or on larger stages, he delivers a distinct energy that resonates far beyond the moment.
His growing reputation on the live music scene has seen him share stages with some of Ghana’s most celebrated artists, including Daddy Lumba, Ofori Amponsah, Oheneba Kissi, Kojo Antwi, Kwabena Kwabena, Okyeame Kwame, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, King Promise, Nacee, and many others. He has also performed at notable events such as DL@60 (Accra), Taste of Ghana at the Black Star Square (Accra), Ghana Hiplife Party with Okyeame Kwame at +233 Jazz Bar & Grill (Accra), the 24th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (Accra), and Onua Showtime with McBrown on Onua TV (Accra), among others.
Deeply rooted in tradition yet forward-looking in approach, his sound is influenced by Afrobeat and Highlife legends such as Ebo Taylor, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, the Western Diamonds Band (Ghana), Osibisa, and Fela Kuti. At the same time, he draws inspiration from contemporary African stars including Flavour, Tekno, Burna Boy, and Bisa Kdei, among many others—blending these influences into a style that feels both timeless and modern.
