Bio
Bholoja, born Mbongiseni Ngubane in 1979 in the Hhohho Region of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), is best known for his distinctive musical style, ‘Swazi Soul’. His sound blends soul, gospel, jazz, blues and traditional African rhythms, and he performs in both SiSwati and English.
His debut album, Swazi Soul, released in 2009, brought him international recognition and introduced wider audiences to his unique fusion of genres. Beyond his music career, Bholoja is also actively involved in social advocacy, including efforts to combat HIV/AIDS and campaigns against the abuse of women and children.
Among his notable tracks are ‘Indzawo Yami’, a reflection on identity and belonging; ‘Amateki’, a collaboration with DJ Mbo; and ‘Mbombela’, which highlights his strong storytelling ability and vocal range. His music is available on platforms including Apple Music and SoundCloud.
