Call for submissions: Performing arts competition in Hong Kong
The Hong Kong International Youth Performance Arts Festival is accepting submissions for the video competition ahead of its ninth edition.
The categories include piano, strings, woodwind, brass, harp, vocal music, percussion and Chinese instruments. First held in 2013, the programme has seen more than 10 000 people participate in the contest over the years.
How to enter
- Applicants are recommended to upload their videos in 720p pixels.
- Files should not exceed 1GB capacity.
- The video must not have been edited.
- For piano classes, the video must try to capture the entire keyboard and the angle of the pedal.
- Other instrument subjects also need to maintain a good playing distance for sound effects.
- Before uploading the relevant video files, applicants must check to ensure that the audio and video follow the standards and quality.
- Once uploaded, the videos cannot be changed.
- All participating films will use video-recording technology to allow viewers and reviewers to watch the contestants’ performances simultaneously. Contestants can observe and learn from each other’s efforts through the video contest.
- Interested participants can fill an online application form here. Read more contest regulations here.
The deadline for submissions for the preliminary round is 1 December.
Note:
- The results will be announced on 15 January 2022.
- Adjudication will be based on the overall performance of the competitors, including technique, interpretation, musicality and artistic appeal.
- The final video competition will take place between February and March 2022.
