Zim: Listen to Rudo Amor’s new single Satisy
Zimbabwean singer Rudo Amor has released a new single titled ‘Satisy’. The song is off here upcoming debut EP Confessions From a Broken Heart, which is set for release in October.
‘Satisfy’ tells the story of her engagement and wedding that she called off a few days before the ceremony. The song also speaks about her loneliness and how she pursued fame and money, thinking these would make her happy.
“What motivated me to record this song is the message of healing and hope that I wanted others to experience, having gone through a dark period of depression,” Rudo Amor told Music In Africa. “This song is a continuation of my last single ‘Choose’. It makes part of a series of stories about relationships and how our focus should be on loving ourselves first and building our faith and trust in God.
“I wrote ‘Satisfy’ in 2019 with a great keyboardist, Simba Muzhari. We then went to record the initial track at JustPercy Studios, then continued the recording with B-kID, the executive producer, and Larynx for some vocal capturing. We also got Reneiloe, a film music composer, to give the song more depth and character.”
Rudo Amor is not new to the Zimbabwean music scene. Her song ‘It’s Love’ won the Best House Song of the Year at the 2016 Zimbabwe Music Awards. It was also nominated at the National Arts Merit Awards that same year. She also collaborated with Leslie Kampila and Lance Hebron on ‘Sthandwa Sam’, a song that topped the Zimbabwean charts and received extensive airplay in the country.
