The EP, which is available for streaming and download on major digital platforms, marks a significant milestone in the artist’s career and personal life, paying tribute to fatherhood, growth, and his enduring love for amapiano.
Named after his son, Maison is more than a collection of tracks, it is a heartfelt dedication to legacy and artistic maturity. The lead single, ‘Yiyo’, featuring genre pioneer Kabza De Small and T&T MuziQ, is already gaining momentum on streaming charts with its hypnotic, groove-heavy sound.
“This EP means everything to me,” Shaun said. “It’s named after my son, Maison, and it reflects where I am in life – as a father, a producer, and a student of the amapiano movement. I’ve poured my heart into it, and having a legend like Kabza Da Small on board makes it that much more special.”
The project showcases collaborations with some of amapiano’s most talented contributors, including Mkeyz, KyD, ChillyboyRSA, and Sponge 101. The result is a dynamic listening experience that spans introspective moods and high-energy anthems.
Shaun Stylist’s steady rise within the amapiano landscape has been marked by thoughtful evolution and consistent impact. His earlier tracks, including ‘Nothando’ (1.3 million streams), ‘Manje Monday’ (2.1 million streams since April 2024), and ‘Ekhoneni’ (717,000 streams), have helped establish his distinctive voice in the genre.
With Maison, Shaun blends the soulful essence of amapiano with personal themes, delivering tracks such as ‘Themb’itshe’, known for its haunting depth, and ‘Noise’, which channels vibrant energy suited for the dancefloor. The EP represents both a homage to the sound that shaped him and a bold step forward in expanding its emotional reach.
Far from a routine release, Maison stands as a love letter to amapiano, a tribute to his son, and a statement of artistic intent from one of the genre’s most promising talents.
