The Africa Rising Music Conference (ARMC) is set to make a powerful return for its fifth edition, taking place on 22 and 23 May 2025 at the iconic Constitution Hill in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Backed by headline partners Paradise Worldwide, AlphaTheta, and Mint Digital Services, the conference continues its mission to amplify underrepresented voices, champion industry independence, and create inclusive access under the unifying theme: A Space for Every Voice.
Building on its reputation as a platform for innovation and cross-border collaboration, ARMC 2025 boasts a dynamic programme of speakers, performances, workshops, and the launch of an all-new Demo Lab. In a bold step toward inclusivity, the event offers free general access to all panel and keynote sessions, reinforcing its commitment to accessibility within the music industry.
This year also marks ARMC’s most diverse International Delegation to date, welcoming music executives, curators, and creatives from the UK, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Sweden, the United States, and beyond. Their presence signals a deepening of global connections and fresh opportunities for artist export and cultural exchange.
For those seeking deeper engagement, the ARMC VIP Experience offers access to exclusive workshops, networking events, and the VIP Lounge. VIP ticket holders also benefit from reserved access to select sessions, complimentary lunch, and refreshments. Tickets for VIP access are limited and available via Resident Advisor.
New activation and programme
A standout addition to this year’s conference is the ARMC Demo Lab — a new activation space dedicated to music technology, gear, and lifestyle innovation. Designed for hands-on engagement, the Demo Lab brings together creators and brands pushing the boundaries of sound and style within music culture. Interested exhibitors can apply to participate by contacting hello@africarisingmusicconference.com.
The daytime programme promises a bold array of industry-focused workshops and discussions that reflect the evolving state of music today. Highlights include AlphaTheta DJ Workshops led by Rarri (Netherlands), Ms Party (SA), and Lelowhatsgood (SA); a songwriting session by Manana; and specialist sessions such as Developing Your Live Set by Bad Weather, The Sound Mind mental health workshop, and Moon Jelly’s Fan Engagement House. Workshop access is exclusive to VIP ticket holders.
Further elevating the conference, the 2025 speaker line-up features luminaries from across the global and African music scenes, including representatives from Sony Music Entertainment, Empire, Audiomack, Mixmag, Rolling Stone, and Bad Weather. Esteemed artists and industry leaders such as Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Msaki, Jack Parow, Sibu Mabena, Rethabile Khumalo, Rouge, Money Badoo, Manana, and Busiswa will also be in attendance, providing insight at the intersection of creative talent and executive strategy.
Panel discussions, advocacy and performances
Among the must-attend sessions are panels and keynotes such as Resident Advisor Presents: Architects of the Night, Sealand in Conversation with Jack Parow, Echoes of Impact: The SAMPRA Development Fund, Audiomack – Revolutionising Music Discovery in Africa, and Pitch Perfect: How to Get the Media to Write About You. All these sessions are free and open to the public.
A special spotlight this year shines on Mamas in Music, a UK-founded non-profit advocating for mothers in the music industry. In a meaningful nod to ARMC’s own founder, who recently embraced motherhood, the 2025 edition explores the challenges and triumphs of balancing parenting with a career in music. The initiative aims to foster dialogue and solutions that support a more inclusive and supportive industry for mothers globally.
As day turns to night, ARMC by Night promises an electrifying line-up of performances on 22 May, transforming Constitution Hill into a vibrant hub of genre-blending live music. Audiences can expect dynamic sets from artists such as K.Keed, Shalate, Bony Fly, Charisse C, Mibsy, Samito, AŸA, Papa, OKE, Money Badoo, and NOTBENJAMIN – all of whom represent the bold, boundary-pushing spirit of the global music scene.
With the second phase of ticket sales now open, ARMC 2025 is poised to deliver another unforgettable celebration of music, culture, and innovation.
