Namibia’s Gina Jeanz to play SA festival
Producer Gina Jeanz will be performing at upcoming South African festival Rocking the Daisies. The event will take place in the Western Cape province from 5 to 8 October.
“I'm so excited to be playing at Rocking the Daisies this year,” the Namibian artists wrote on Instagram. “What an honour!”
Now in its 12th edition, Rocking the Daisies is a music and lifestyle festival that features local and international entertainment across music, comedy, art and film. Also performing at the event are South African artists Black Coffee, Cassper Nyovest and Ray Phiri. Irish indie rock band Two Door Cinema will take to the Daisies stage as well.
Gina Jeanz, who is currently in the US, told a Namibian publication that she was expecting the festival to provide her with networking opportunities as well as a platform to present her music to a wider audience.
“As the first-ever Namibian playing there,” she said, “it means a lot to represent my country at such a big festival.
“It's a great platform to showcase my music as well as gain exposure, so I'm looking forward to meeting all the other international and local artists on the line-up and hopefully collaborating with them in the near future.”
Although Rocking the Daisies is a career highlight, Gina Jeanz has been busy. She recently released a three-track collaboration with RedBull Studios, a project that was well-received online.
