Maranatha Global Worship Music Awards: Full list of winners
This year’s Maranatha Global Worship Music Awards (MGWMAs) were held at the Tent of Testimonies chapel in Nairobi, Kenya, on 5 August.
Now in their third edition, the MGWMAs are designed to acknowledge authentic biblical worship music andto honour exceptional individuals from around the globe.
Solomon Mukubwa from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) expressed his excitement after his Mungu Mwenye Nguvu album won in the Best Worship Music Album category.
“For those who voted for me thank you and I love you so much,” he said. “You are indeed a blessing to my life. I didn’t know how huge the awards would be until I came to Kenya. I think to accommodate all of us next year, the organisers should take us to the Kenyatta International Conference Centre.”
Ex-Joyous Celebration singer Mahalia Buchanan, who was the guest speaker at the awards ceremony, said: “This is one of the most amazing platforms because I like speaking to people who I feel share the same purpose as myself. A gospel musician without the presence of God is just loud and cannot impact on the world. So I urge all musicians not to forget the assignment which has been given to us.”
