The song was written and produced by Kudjoe Daze and LyriqalBeatz, respectively. It was mixed and mastered by Eze Young and comes after the successful release of Kudjoe Daze’s 2021 EP Takashi and Grace.
In ‘Ewurama’, Kudjoe Daze narrates a heartbreak incident he experienced while dating a lady called Ewurama. The song is accompanied by a visualiser and is sung in English and Twi.
“Ewurama is a song I wrote when I experienced my first heartbreak,” Kudjoe Daze told Music In Africa. “The lyrics are very emotional and raw. What I seek to achieve with ‘Ewurama’ is a new and fresh audience from all over Africa and the world. I also want to help people to deal with heartbreaks and give love another chance.”
Kudjoe Daze, born Tord Ishmael in 1997, hails from Dzita-Agbledomi in the Volta Region of Ghana. He draws inspiration from local artists such as Stonebwoy, Sarkodie and King Promise as well as Nigeria’s Fireboy DML. He released his debut song ‘Breakthrough’ in 2018. Produced by Roses Beatz, the single was well received and earned him a spot on the local music scene. Other compositions of his include ‘End in Tears’, ‘Gratitude’, ‘Favour Me’ and ‘My Story’.
