Beyond Music releases new album on social change
Beyond Music, a global community seeking to unite artists worldwide through collaborative projects, has released its fourth compilation album, Beyond Music Vol. 4 – Social Change, featuring 23 tracks by 78 artists from 41 countries.
- Angélique Kidjo, Pheelz, and Wiyaala are featured on the album.
The project explores themes such as women’s empowerment, peace, resilience, unity, and the fight against gender-based violence. Some of the featured musicians are Angélique Kidjo (Benin), Wiyaala (Ghana), Pheelz (Nigeria), Ah Moon (Myanmar), Mashall Muze (Nigeria), Giuliana Potenza (Agentina), Chylde (Nigeria), JyellowL (Nigeria/Ireland), Chris Kabs (Congo/Ireland), Johnson Amezuke (Ghana), Abiana (Ghana), Joyce Babatunde (Cameroon), Naimah (South Africa) and Pesa Bazz (Congo).
One of the singles from the record, ‘Stay Together,’ is a collaboration with Pheelz, Mashall Muze, Naimah and Ella Rose. The track was re-produced and released with a video as part of the album’s promotion.
For the album, Beyond Music invited artists to submit original work under the theme “Best Songs for Social Change”. The initiative attracted 754 participants from 108 countries, resulting in 199 song submissions using 472 instruments.
A jury that included Angélique Kidjo, Pheelz and Wiyaala selected the winning entries. The top three teams collaborated with the guest artists to re-produce their tracks in professional studios. Their singles were accompanied by music videos and international promotion. The songs will also be submitted for consideration in the Grammy Awards’ “Best Song for Social Change” category.
An additional 20 artists received awards totalling $85 000. Their songs were mastered and released alongside the winning entries on Beyond Music Vol. 4 – Social Change.
The album is now available for streaming and download on major digital platforms.
