Yaw Tog, born Thorsten Owusu Gyimah, is regarded as one of the pioneers of Ghana’s Asakaa drill sound. He rose to prominence in 2020 with his single ‘Soree’, featuring O’Kenneth, City Boy, Reggie and Jay Bahd. The track was followed in 2021 by ‘Soree Remix’, which included British rapper Stormzy and Ghanaian artist Kwesi Arthur and brought him international attention. His catalogue also includes tracks such as ‘Time’, ‘Fake Ex’, ‘Cold Friends’ and ‘Asohhh’.
Under the deal, West Night Publishing will manage Yaw Tog’s publishing rights, including administration, royalty collection and licensing opportunities in Africa and abroad.
“This is an important step in my journey,” Yaw Tog said. “I want my music to carry Ghana’s voice further, and with the right support, I can focus fully on creating and sharing my story.”
West Night Publishing CEO Seidu Iddrisu said: “Yaw Tog represents the new generation of Ghanaian artists shaping global sounds. His authenticity and drive are undeniable, and we’re excited to support his work so that it reaches wider audiences and receives the recognition it deserves.”
