Call for nominations: 2021 Buzz Teeniez Awards in Uganda
Nominations for this year’s Buzz Teeniez Awards (BTAs) are now open ahead of the awards ceremony in Kampala, Uganda, on 19 December.
Now in their 15th edition, the awards are organised by MTN Uganda and provide a platform for teenagers to celebrate their peers, idols and businesses that influence them positively.
Last year, Crysto Panda topped the nominees list with eight nominations, while Sheeba Karungi and Karol Kasita received six nominations apiece.
This year, the organisers have added three new categories, namely NXT Big Thing, Hottest TikToker and TikTok Sound of the Year.
“We can’t ignore the growth of TikTok and teenage content creators who have built massive audiences and engagement,” MTN Uganda said. “There’s been a debate on who is the hottest TikToker, and what better way to settle this argument than put it to a BTAs vote."
The awards ceremony will be broadcast live on Magic 1 TV and social media via the Buzz Teenz Facebook page and MTN Uganda YouTube channel.
