Call for applications: Visas for Creation residence programme
Visas for Creation is calling on artists and curators living in Africa and the Caribbean islands to apply for its two-month residence programme in France between October and December.
Visas for Creation is part of the Africa and Caribbean cultural cooperation mission. The programme supports artistic emergence in Africa and in the Caribbean through residencies in mainland France and in its overseas territories. It allows recipients to develop a creative or research project and to benefit from air fare coverage, a living allowance of €1,000 ($1 150) per month and repatriation insurance.
This programme is aimed at artists and curators residing in Africa or the Caribbean (excluding Overseas Collectivities and French overseas departments or regions) with professional experience, who wish to develop a research project or creation in mainland France or in an overseas department and region. Overseas Collectivities include: French Polynesia, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Wallis-et-Futuna, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy. French overseas departments or regions comprise: Martinique, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Réunion and Mayotte.
Who can apply?
- African artists or curators living in Africa or in the Indian oceanic region.
- Caribbean artists or curators living in the Caribbean islands only (French and overseas regions and departments are not admissible).

- Arts
- Circus
- Dance
- Design
- Digital arts
- Fashion
- Multidisciplinary projects
- Photography
- Street and puppet arts
- Theatre
- Visual arts
Required documents
Applicants should complete an online form using the following information:
- Project holder: information about the artist or curator.
- Description of the project: title of the project, brief presentation of the residency project, objectives and expected results, period of the residency.
- Partnerships: information on possible contacts and partnerships established with French and/or foreign artists and/or professionals.
Documents to be submitted with the application form:
- A specific project for the residency
- A CV
- A signed statement ensuring that the works to be presented were authored by the applicant
- A commitment letter from the associated residency welcoming you
