Zethu Mashika

Zethu Mashika is a South African film and television composer, music producer, and studio owner. He is best known for his work composing original scores for feature films, television series, and streaming platforms, and as the founder of Control and Command Studios, a Johannesburg-based music and post-production facility.

Zethu Mashika was born and raised in Benoni, east of Johannesburg, South Africa. His interest in music developed at an early age, influenced by a wide range of musical styles and a strong exposure to storytelling through sound. He later studied at the Tshwane University of Technology, where he was introduced to digital music production tools that shaped his approach to composing.

Mashika began his professional career in the early 2000s, initially working as a music producer before transitioning into film and television scoring. He soon established himself as a versatile composer, known for blending orchestral textures with contemporary electronic elements. His work is characterized by emotional depth, narrative sensitivity, and a strong focus on character-driven storytelling.
