Tumelo

Tumelo Ruele is a South African singer, songwriter, producer and creative based in the Vaal Triangle, south of Johannesburg. Born and raised in Sebokeng, he discovered his passion for music early and has become known for his soulful sound that blends house, afro and gospel-inspired elements.

After developing his artistic skills and gaining experience in radio and broadcasting, Ruele made his mark in music with earlier releases and performances. Following a seven-year hiatus, he made a powerful return in 2024 with his deeply personal album Makuki — a tribute to his late mother that explores themes of love, loss, resilience and joy through rich rhythms and heartfelt melodies.

Ruele’s work is grounded in authentic storytelling, musical versatility and emotional resonance, earning him recognition both locally and in broader soulful house music circles. Beyond his own releases, he continues to collaborate with producers and artists to bring vibrant contemporary sounds rooted in South African musical tradition.
