Bio
Tshepo Mngoma is a seasoned music director, producer, educator, music minister, and recording artist with over two decades of experience in the music industry. A graduate of the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies and a Master’s in Christian Leadership from Basilea Bible Institute, Tshepo is known for his dynamic approach to music performance, direction, and education.
Since 2000, Tshepo has graced national and international stages as a performer, bringing energy and musical finesse to renowned festivals and events such as the North Sea Jazz Festival, Joy of Jazz Festival Macufe Music Festival, Jerusalem Music Festival and he has performed with Joyous Celebration, B.O.P., Watershed, Hugh Masekela, Sibongile Khumalo, Sophiatown Jazz Orchestra and the U.K. and U.S. tours of Songs of Migration. As a music director, Tshepo has led numerous high-profile productions such as the Internationally acclaimed musical Dream Girls, Standard Bank Jazz Festival, Mbokodo Awards, and the S.A. Presidential Inauguration and Presidents Luncheon, earning a reputation for elevating musical excellence and artistic collaboration.
His extensive work in string and vocal arrangements includes collaborations with artists such as Sibongile Khumalo, Swazi Dlamini, Zahara, Zakes Bantwini, and Chevelle Franklyn. As a recording artist, his albums People and Places, Journey, and 4 Winds reflect his deep musicality and versatility.
