Tha Remnants Kamp
Bio
Remnants Kamp Band
The Remnants Kamp group members began as solo artistes back in 2000 doing solo recordings as well as collabos. It was comprised of John Kigada aka Kigs, Oliver Mwangovya aka Twista, Christopher Odera aka Spikeapella and with Anthony Ochieng aka Antwanne joining later. Kigs first got a recording opportunity with the Born Twice group which comprised of Julian Macharia, and Timothy Rimbui. Born Twice released an album in 2001 which featured many artists including Michael Maradufu of Found Sheep and Edwin Kaduki.
While the Born Twice album was being recorded, Kigs met with Twista at Christ Is The Answer Ministries, Valley Road. Kigs requested Twista to do a Cypha with him on one of the tracks in the Born Twice debut album. The album enjoyed good airplay.
Kigs and Twista have recorded several songs together and the former has performed several times at live gigs Road shows with various artists and mainly at the Mad Love Lounge. Much later, Oliver and Spikeapella decided to setup a home studio to exploit their passion for music production.
Later, Twista decided to name the group Remnant after seeking God in prayer and the word Remnant came up in reference to 2 Kings 19:29-31 and Romans 11:5 with John. Therefore, the group is now referred to as Tha Remnants Kamp,” i.e. a people set apart for God to do His will; a remnant chosen by grace. We are born again Christians with a common mission of honoring and doing Gods will, we seek to worship Him in spirit and in truth by our lifestyle. We have chosen to use Rhythm and Poetry (RAP) as a tool for sharing the gospel of Gods kingdom. The group is currently working on a mix tape and an album.
One love, God bless!
