Frans Dlamini

Bio

Frans Dlamini is a gospel artist from Manzini, Swaziland. He began singing in the early 1980s when Mkhwanazi, his former high school teacher at Mphundle High, encouraged him to join the school choir. During morning assemblies, Mkhwanazi would ask Frans to lead the praise, thus exposing and nurturing the young man’s skills. At times he would request him to lead lunch fellowships held under the banner of the then SSCF (Swaziland Schools Christian Fellowship) now known as the Scripture Union.

His music career began with a group called Khuza Izono Gospel Group in 1988, which he was part of until 2003. He later joined a music outfit called Khuzizono and left afterwards to pursue a solo career. This saw him releasing live albums recorded at his church; Zakhele Free Evangelical Assemblies where he did collaborations with renowned names in the industry such as Nduduzo Matse and Zodwa Samboko. His is amongst a few artists in the country who are blessed with an exceptional talent. He shot to fame with the release of his debut album ‘Liphi Ithikithi Lakho Loku Ngena Ezulwini’ in 2003. This was followed by ‘Magwinyagwinya’ in 2004 and since then has been on the road – honouring promotional events for corporate entities, in the process taking his music talent to another level.

In 2012, he released a remix a 13-track album. The project featured Nduduzo Matse, his wife Dumsile Dlamini, Gugu Dlamini, Nompilo Simelane, Nothando Hlophe and the award winning Zodwa Samboko. Some of his hits include ‘He is the Lord’, ‘Be Magnified’, ‘Endleleni yonke’, ‘Ngwenyama kaJuda’ featuring Dumsile.
