Angel Dweh (born November 14, 1999), mononymously as Angel Dweh, is a Liberian American singer, songwriter, actor, dancer, and philanthropist. known by the nickname “Afro-Prince,” Born in Monrovia, Liberia to Liberian parents, and later immigrated to the United States.
He fuses Pop, Afrobeat, Afropop, R&B, and Amapiano. Celebrating his Liberian heritage, his distinctive sound and vocals have earned him recognition across the African music scene.
Since emerging in 2020, Angel has captivated audiences with hits like "Love a Good Thing," "Salud," "Hard for Me," and "Flexin." His single “Kokona” gained major airplay on independent radio in Nigeria, Liberia, and Tanzania.
Angel has received numerous accolades, including the Master Class Radio Awards (2020, 2021), CIMV Awards for Best Video with “Trouble” (2022), and CPMA’s Best World Music (2022). He also earned the Board Award for Soldier of the Year (2022) and CPMA’s Spot Award for Best World Music (2023). " ISSA Awards (2024,2025), and Josie Music Awards for "Artist of the Year – R&B/Soul" and "Song of the Year – R&B/Soul."
His acting roles include parts in the independent films Bathroom Trolls (2018) and Concrete Jungle (2020). In 2020, he was also featured in his own autobiographical documentary, The Making of Visual.
In 2022, Angel Dweh made history as the first Liberian artist to perform at the African American Culture Fair in Lancaster, PA. He continued breaking ground as the first Liberian Afrobeat artist to perform at the Kipona Festival in Harrisburg, PA, in 2023 and 2024, and at the 2025 Afrobeats Production Fest in Bethlehem, PA. He has also headlined major concerts, including I Am Angel Dweh Concert USA, The Scorpio Concert USA, and Angel Dweh Acoustic Set USA.
Angel’s talent and fearless creativity have drawn recognition from industry leaders throughout his career. After graduating from Ephrata High School in 2019, he honed his craft at LA’s Hussian College in Studio, where Michael Jackson’s choreographer praised his freestyle dance skills. While studying at Full Sail University, a chance meeting with Cardi B’s sound engineer sparked his passion for music production. In 2024, Angel graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, further solidifying his foundation as a versatile and accomplished artist.
As a philanthropist, Dweh uses his platform to give back to communities and mentor emerging talent. In 2024, he established the Dweh FOUND to support education for youth in Liberia.
His compelling presence on Instagram caught the eye of Canadian fashion label Frontrvnners, who invited him to become a brand ambassador, a partnership aligned with Angel’s values of authenticity, family, and artistic vision.
