Bio

Angel Dweh (born November 14, 1999), mononymously as Angel Dweh, is a Liberian American singer, songwriter, actor, dancer, and philanthropist. known by the nickname “Afro-Prince,” was born in Monrovia, Liberia, to Liberian parents, and later immigrated to the United States.

He fuses Pop, Afrobeat, Afropop, R&B, and Amapiano. Celebrating his Liberian heritage, his distinctive sound and vocals have earned him recognition across the African music scene.

Since emerging in 2020, Angel has captivated audiences with hits like "Love a Good Thing," "Salud," "Hard for Me," and "Flexin." His single “Kokona” gained major airplay on independent radio in Nigeria, Liberia, and Tanzania.

Angel Dweh’s dedication to his craft have earned him numerous awards and industry honors. His accolades include the Master Class Radio Awards (2020 and 2021), the CIMV Award for Best Video for “Trouble” (2022), and the CPMA Award for Best World Music (2022). In the same year, he received the Board Award for Soldier of the Year, recognizing his leadership and service. Angel earned the CPMA Spot Award for "Best World Music" in 2023, followed by recognition at the ISSA Awards in both 2024, 2025, 2026. He was also nominated at the Josie Music Awards with Artist of the Year – R&B/Soul and Song of the Year – R&B/Soul in 2025. In 2025, he received the World Songwriting Award for Best World Music Song for “You,” further cementing his reputation as a globally recognized artist and songwriter.

In addition to his accomplishments in music, Angel Dweh has expanded his creative portfolio into acting and filmmaking. His acting credits include roles in the independent films "Bathroom Trolls (2018)" and "Concrete Jungle (2020)". That same year, he was featured in his autobiographical documentary, "The Making of Visual", which offered an intimate look into his artistic journey and personal growth. Angel released "Scorpio: A Film by Angel Dweh" in 2026, further showcasing his talents as a filmmaker, storyteller, and multidisciplinary artist.

In 2022, Angel Dweh made history as the first Liberian artist to perform at the African American Culture Fair in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He continued to break barriers as the first Liberian Afrobeat artist to perform at the Kipona Festival in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, appearing in both 2023 and 2024, and later at the Afrobeats Production Fest in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in 2025 and 2026

Throughout his career, Angel Dweh has headlined several major events, including the I Am Angel Dweh Concert USA 2021, The Scorpio Concert USA 2024, Angel Dweh Acoustic Set USA 2025, and the Rebirth Tour 2026 & 2027.

In 2027, Angel Dweh performs at the Lancaster Pennsylvania Juneteenth Festival Block Party, becoming the first African artist to perform at the event. This milestone further cemented his legacy as a trailblazer for African and Liberian music in the United States.
