Anathi Bhongo Mnyango, known as Anatii, is a South African rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer celebrated for his genre-blending sound and visionary creativity. Born on 8 January 1993 in Bisho, Eastern Cape, he grew up surrounded by music, influenced by his father’s work as a DJ and radio presenter. By the age of 14, he had already stepped into the industry professionally, earning his first major production credit for L-Tido’s “When It Rains”.
Over the years, Anatii has shaped a distinct artistic path. His albums — Artiifact (2016), Be Careful What You Wish For with AKA (2017), Iyeza (2018), and BOOM SZN (2024) — reflect his ability to move fluidly across sounds while honouring his Xhosa heritage. His talent has also taken him onto the global stage through collaborations with artists like Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Omarion, and others. Notably, he co-wrote on Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl”, earning both Soul Train and Grammy recognition.
Beyond music, Anatii uses his voice for impact, serving as a high-level influencer for the UNHCR LuQuLuQu campaign, advocating for displaced African communities. His career continues to stand out for its innovation, cultural pride, and quiet but powerful influence.
