Bio
Umuthiomkhulu Ensemble Is a South African based African Spiritual Jazz, Gospel & Traditional Ensemble with over 4 years of experience in Spiritual music.
The Ensemble is led by a Young Multi-instrumentalist,Mthimkhulu "Umuthiomkhulu" Stuurman.
He was influenced by Dr Johnny Mekoa who introduced him to Jazz and later was inspired by Malcolm Jiyane.
Umuthi has worked with Majority of South African and International artists, including Dr Johnny Mekoa, The temptations, Amazing Thailand Band, The spam All Stars, Koh Mr Saxman, Alexander Beets, Ed Noodles, Internet Athi, Kujenga, Luyolo Lenga, Ra Mava & Imbewu marimba community Ensemble.
Umuthi has performed at The Standard Bank Joy of Jazz, U.S Embassy, German Embassy,Gaborone convention Centre, Afrikaburn, Emperors Palace & Birchwood Hotel.
Umuthiomkhulu IA currently working on his Debut album "IMITHANDAZO YETHU ".
