Tis89(Skaloko Hlongwa, born 17/03/1989 & Ikalafeng Mongae, born 19/10/1988) is a Dance "House" music production and deejay duo born in Zeerust, North West, South Africa.When Tis 89's journey started it was in a small apartment where they stayed for a couple of years due to attending varsity in Pretoria, South Africa -Ikalafeng studying Marketing & Skaloko studying Information Technology, the only thing they had in common was the love for dance music and music in general.At that time the South African dance music scene was sky high. Inspired by the likes of Vinny Da Vinci, Phat K, Silly Bean, Dj Fresh, Oskido, Durban's Finest, Black Coffee & Christos they decided to take the passion they had for music to the next level.Tis89 started learning music production from friends who were already into music production. Working in a tiny home-made production studio Tis89's skills were developed, groomed & sharpened. Having interest in various music genres like kwaito, jazz, soul, afro jazz, RnB, hip-hop,pop,Afro-Pop and more but the main focus was and is Dance "house" music and its sub-genres.

The South African born duo used all this knowledge and skill into creating their first ever offering released on 08 August 2018 titled Boxes featuring Eleizer & Green Fingures.
