Tatenda Chioniso Rushwaya

Tatenda Chioniso Rushwaya is a self motivated, fun, singer, songwriter, instrumentalist and  a hard working creative entreprenuer who was born on the 28th of August 1994 and raised in Harare Zimbabwe. She grew up interested in being a musician and entered the Zimbabwe College of Music in 2016, where she studied Theory Of Musc as a part time student. With the passion and knowledge about music she got interested in curation of live music events organizing unforgettable events and imparting the art of playing music instruments to emerging artists.

In April 2022 she released a single track titled You Are With Me. The same year Chioniso launched Dzidza Hub, which is an artists training hub dedicated to the education and empowerment of artists offering training in playing mbira, acoustic guitar, percussions, voice and marimba. Dzidza is more than a training center but a community. Chioniso also started a social music event called Ku-Mbira Lounge, an event that promotes mbira a Zimbabwe instrument and faith conversations and storytelling done through mbira music performance, poetry, dance and other forms of art. Ku-Mbira Lounge it's an EXPERIENCE which creates a unique connection between
the artists and the audience.

Since the Covid 19 Pandemic she has been offering private mbira and acoustic guitar lessons to both children and adults. Chioniso works as a part time music instructor at Kufunda Village School and full time events organizer working with different artists.
