Bio
Scawter Salym (born Salim Iddrisu Hinson) is a Ghanaian singer and songwriter from Accra Darkuman Zongo, Who majors in the modern dancehall music scene, gained his first notable breakthrough when he was 17 years old. That early milestone marked the release of his debut singles (Born to Win / Kinyi koomi), establishing his presence in the modern dancehall and reggae scenes.
While he has been active in the underground music landscape building a presence with tracks like ( Clear The way, It’s permanent, Who and more) — Scawter Won “Dancehall Artist of the Year” Award at GMIA 2021 ON CEEJEY TV MULTIMEDIA and also got nominated for “Best new artist of the year” at AfroMelodies Awards. His path to widespread mainstream recognition is an ongoing journey of grassroots releases and chart progression such as Apple Music, Spotify and other platforms. His debut single “Clear the way” Peaked Number 6 position on Apple Music Reggae Chart Cameroon. He has even charted as high as number 2 on the ReverbNation Reggae Ghana charts, cementing a dedicated local fanbase.
