Cloudy Abdalla Maingu commonly widely known as Prince Cloudy de Sultan is a multifaceted Kenyan artist whose voice, performance, and message place him at the intersection of music, culture, and social impact. A recording musician, songwriter, poet and live band singer, nicknamed as “Sauti ya Gharama, Mtoto wa Uswahilini”. 'Sauti ya Gharama' —a name that reflects both his powerful delivery and the depth of his message and 'Mtoto wa Uswahilini' — reflecting his deep roots to the coastal culture of the Swahilis, where he comes from.
With a commanding stage presence and a versatile sound, he blends contemporary African rhythms with live instrumentation, poetic songwriting, and dynamic crowd engagement. His performances are marked by energy, clarity, and emotional connection, making him a compelling act for concerts, festivals, corporate events, and community platforms alike.
Beyond entertainment, is a skilled peer counselor, peace and climate champion, human rights defender (HRD), activist and community mobilizer, using music and voice as tools for advocacy, unity, and positive change. His work often speaks to identity, resilience, and social responsibility, positioning him not just as a performer but as a cultural communicator.
Equally skilled behind the microphone, Prince Cloudy de Sultan’s experience as a voice actor, radio presenter/host and MC allows him to adapt seamlessly across music, media and live hosting. Whether on stage, in the studio, or within the community, he represents a new generation of African artists who combine creativity with purpose.
He has performed in various big stages; International Youth Day 2024 hosted by the National Youth Council, National Holidays (Mashujaa Day & Jamhuri Day) hosted by the Mombasa County Commissioner, Annual Youth Economic Summit and Anika Amani & Mazingira Festival hosted by Manyatta Africa courtesy of Forum Civ Eastern & Southern Africa, International Women's Day hosted by the Mombasa County Woman Representative, Launching of 16 Days of Activism & International Human Rights Day hosted by Coast Region CSOs.
He is the founder and executive director of Sultan Empire KE, a youth led Pan-African community based organization that is rooted in promoting human fraternity and peaceful co-existence through art, culture and positive peer influence.
He is a USAID & IRCK Integrity Youth Awards 2024 co-honoree and a BakTalent Rising Star 2026 nominee.
